Shifting gears in a high-speed race, Nvidia is accelerating the transition from its GB200 to the GB300 line of GPUs. According to a top tech analyst, this switch is set to unveil “new winners and losers” in the competitive landscape of chip suppliers.

One of the emerging victors is Alpha and Omega Semiconductor (AOS), which has locked in its first Nvidia AI server order, becoming the primary DrMOS supplier for the eagerly anticipated GB300 NVL72 GPUs.

AOS, which commands a 70% share as the main DrMOS supplier, is expected to deliver between 50 and 60 million DrMOS units by 2Q25, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, best known for his predictions around Apple products, said in a note.

This is well ahead of market expectations that projected mass shipments only by 4Q25. By estimating the GB300 system’s robust market demand, Nvidia has placed early orders to ensure a smooth supply chain flow—a move that could allow AOS to exit its losses as early as FY25Q4.

These developments mark a pivotal moment for AOS. The GB300 NVL72 offerings introduce enhanced features over their predecessor, the GB200, including a graphics card-grade 5×5 DrMOS, reduced costs, and altered current specifications. Significant reductions in overall DrMOS costs—by 35-40%—are projected, positioning AOS’s growth trajectory comfortably ahead of previous market predictions.

Nvidia’s validation of AOS’s lead role, coupled with the expected shipment of 1.2 million controllers by MPS (a secondary supplier), affirms Nvidia’s commitment to quality and innovation.

This shift also ties into wider narratives about Nvidia’s forward-thinking posture, including recent GPU evolutions like the RTX 50 Series, which have paved the way for more realistic AI-generated imagery.

Kuo notes that this transition to GB300 may bring a shift in narrative for the benefit of new Nvidia suppliers like AOS.

‘”Existing GB200 suppliers are not necessarily at a disadvantage, but new suppliers entering with GB300 — such as AOS — are likely to garner heightened market attention,” the analyst said.

The prior suppliers are weighed down by more than the DeepSeek-fueled concerns of demand in that the GB200 NVL72 shipments may be falling short of expectations.
